Each photo must be converted into a print friendly stencil image that is then carefully cut out using a Stanley knife. In this particular example the art piece is made up of 6 color layers which were chosen to the customer’s specification. The background color is a shocking pink splatter neon paint splash effect.

Here is the latest order fresh from your face on vinyl labs. It’s a stencil urban style portrait sprayed onto 12” vinyl record. The person who ordered wanted a unique art gift to give his girlfriend for her birthday gift. She happens to love stencil art, music, parties, urban culture and the man in the portrait; Albert Einstein. So a stencil portrait of Albert Einstein on vinyl turned out to be the perfect gift idea. The other request was that it must contain the color ‘pink’, so as you can see the background is a textured UV neon type shocking pink and to keep a nice balance and good contrast the main portrait is sprayed in a grey and dark blue and black tone.

In this case this will be the only ever vinyl with this design sprayed on it, in order to keep the piece unique and special we destroyed the stencil after the making of this art work so that she would be the only owner of this stencil art piece, signed, sealed and delivered. We can convert any photo into a unique stencil art piece gift and in this case the buyer requested Albert Einstein. As much as we like the result of this stencil art piece we refuse to make any copies available for anyone else, so please do not ask for a re-order of this particular art piece. In this photo you can see the preview image that were sent to the customer for approval alongside the finished product.

The stencils of dogs were made as a portrait art birthday gift. They were completed within 2 weeks and sent back to the customer with express international shipping option (2-5 days delivery time). They were completed by myself Vinni K, in Bangkok, Thailand and shipped to the state of California, USA.

Actually i cannot tell you too much about who these dogs are or what these dogs do, but i can tell you that as you can see for yourself the results are very close to the real thing. The stencil itself is not easy, stencils of animals that have long sharp pointy hair features always means lots of cutting and lots of pre planning. In this example the dogs were made up of 7 layers of stencil and colours each. The biggest headache is knowing which order to spray the stencils in so it works well, luckily for that purpose i created this video which you can see by clicking here…

No Mothers of invention records were harmed in this process...

YFOV is taking part in a show especially about art produced on or using vinyl 12” records.

It’s opening on the 4th of June (for 2 weeks) in the Funhouse Gallery Detroit. It also happens to be the opening party for the Gallery as well. The organizer of the gallery contact your face on vinyl to take part in the show, it’s been a good few months in the making and so we are very excited to be exhibiting a mix of old and new work. Any work left unsold will be posted on the website for purchase (which will also symbolize the launch of the web store – fingers crossed!)

So YFOV sent a selection of 10 records (mostly singles and 1 triptych) to include in the exhibition which features over 50 other artists from all over the world. We are very excited to take part in the exhibition and will be sure to post some pictures of the event. This is the first time that YFOV is going to exhibit in America, so high hopes indeed!

No this is NOT a vinyl toy show- does the world really need to manufacture more vinyl crap for creative types to paint on? We think not. We believe there’s more than enough Ray Coniff Singers and Air Supply vinyl records to go around for the next 100 years.

Here is a sneak preview of one of the vinyl’s YFOV is exhibiting; it’s a Frank Zappa piece one of the greatest experimental rock n roll musicians of all time, this does him enough justice, but it’s hard to sum up a man who produced such an eclectic and amazing body of work. This is our dedication to him to paint him on a medium which most of his music was released on… And hopefully YFOV has managed to capture Frank Zappa looking iconic and classy created using a stencil and spray paint painted onto a 12” vinyl record.
